Kayla is a beautiful boxer mix! She currently is in a foster home and this is what they have to say about her, "Kayla is truly the sweetest girl and, without a doubt, one of the easiest fosters we have ever had. She is the perfect companion - smart, affectionate, calm, and full of personality. We have been fostering her for two months, and she has seamlessly fit right into our home.
Kayla is happiest when she is near her people. If you sit anywhere near her, there is about a 95% chance she will gently crawl into your lap for cuddles. If she isn't curled up with me, she's usually with one of my parents or friends. She loves her people and gets so happy when they come home! But even though she is incredibly affectionate, she isn't overly velcro. If you get up to cook, shower, or move around the house, she may follow you for a little while, then happily settle back down until you return. She has the perfect balance of being loving and wanting to be near you without needing your attention every second.
She is also incredibly smart. Kayla already knows sit, paw, and lay down, comes when you call her name, and even better, comes running when you ask if she wants a treat. She has great manners around food, too - she will sit and patiently wait while you put her food down until you give her permission to go eat.
At home, Kayla has been fantastic. We have not needed to crate her while fostering, and she has done wonderfully with free roam of the house. Another family who previously fostered her has also shared that she is crate trained. Kayla is potty trained, walks beautifully on a loose leash most of the time, and genuinely enjoys walks and time outside.
She may be three years old, but she definitely still has her silly, playful moments and loves to zoom around the yard. She is also wonderfully gentle at heart. Even when she is playing a little "rough," she is never overly mouthy. Instead, she prefers sweet little nibbles and corn-cobbing as her way of showing affection. Kayla does have dog reactivity and would do best as the only pet in the home. In the yard, she may bark at strangers at first, but once introduced she is incredibly gentle and sweet.
I truly cannot emphasize enough how special this girl is. Kayla has so much love to give, and she would be such an easy, seamless addition to the right home. She has been overlooked for months, but we know her person is out there. And when they meet her, we think they are going to wonder how anyone ever passed up this sweet, silly, loving girl. Kayla is actually the best!"
