If you're looking for a Southern Bell - Belle is your girl! At 8ish years old, this beautiful gray-and-brown girl has fur that feels like velvet and a personality that's every bit as sweet. Belle is a professional belly-rub recipient, an enthusiastic fetch player, and a stuffie collector extraordinaire - she almost always has a favorite toy nearby. When she's not busy carrying around her latest treasure, she's happy to curl up for a nap, snuggle in your lap, or sleep on the bed next to her person. She also ignores cats, is housebroken, and is absolutely obsessed with treats, so you'll never have to wonder what her love language is!
Belle is still working on a few things as she settles into her best-dog era. She is not a fan of the crate and will let you know her feelings loudly, so a home where crating isn't necessary would be ideal. Belle can get a little growly when another pup gets attention or treats, so she eats separately and will do best with continued positive, consistent guidance around sharing her people. And then there are her... culinary curiosities: paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, and even Q-tips are apparently delicacies in Belle's world, so her humans will need to keep those tempting snacks safely out of reach. Thunderstorms, car rides without a companion, or being picked up stress her a bit - but with an emotional support stuffie, some belly rubs, and a cozy spot beside you, you'll have a very happy girl ready to tackle the scaries with you. Belle does have a Grade 3 heart murmur, which currently doesn't affect her day-to-day life.

The adoption fee is $150 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they've already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They've been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they're ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
