I'm cute. Adorable. Kissy. Kind. An all around great little tan dog! I clearly don't lack in the area of confidence nor do I lack in the area of pet skills! Arriving as a stray, what could be a scary setting for some dogs, well I'm able to eagerly embrace the new routine, the energy and all the opportunities to meet and make new friends! Graced with a happy, upbeat, playful outlook on life, I'm terrific on the leash, ready to go and do and no doubt excel in introducing myself to everyone. When we meet, count on paws in your lap and perhaps a fast smooch on your cheek! Loaded with good vibes and a fun, addictive energy, I'm the guy that will add the perfect amount of joy, snuggles and a push for adventure to keep us all at our best. Update Sept 2: Comanchi continues to thrive and he does not disappoint! Arriving as a stray, he was immediately upbeat and ready to make new friends and accept his new "normal." Weeks into his shelter stay and Comanchi is still as sunny faced and happy as they come! He's a regular in doggy play groups and is excellent in this setting. He's shared his kennel with a variety of other doggies (all adopted) and by now , he might be thinking... "Always the groomsman, never the groom!" Comanchi would be excellent in most home settings and would request that he's an integral part of the daily activity and that he gets his fair share of TLC! We enjoy having Comanchi under our care but at the end of the day, it's a full time pet job that he really needs. Perhaps you can help!
Facebook Update Oct 4: We kick off our Monday morning with COMANCHI.
COMANCHI is on our hearts and minds as he's been overlooked and is such the BESTEST boy! Great news for him is that last week, he had a fantastic day-cation which included multiple stops in the community, a bath, a snack, play time and of course plenty of one on one cuddling and loving! Comanchi is growing up right before our eyes. HE NEEDS YOU!! And...YOU NEED HIM...who are we kidding??? In addition to growing up right before our eyes, he's kind of getting the reputation of always the groomsman never the groom as his kennel mates keep getting adopted and he's left behind. Note: 11mos old; about 40lb-ish.
Day-cation update: We had a Daycation away from the shelter and he was the MOST perfect boy. Our first stop was PetSmart where he took in all the sights and smells. He met the guinea pigs and was most amazed by them, but he just sat looking on and didn't offer not once to pounce on their cage. Next, we had to stop by UPS, then on to Pet Supply Plus for a dog wash. He was so well behaved and compliant with what I asked him to do. He LOVED his towel dry afterwards. After that I had to wash horse blankets for the upcoming winter, so we went to the laundromat across from Cherry Street where he met some more new friends. We sat and chilled under the shade tree and ate an apple. He was so happy. To finish our time together we had to stop by Starbucks for a caramel Frappuccino and a pup cup...well two actually When we got back to the shelter he had some more outside time in the play area where he found a ball, which they said he absolutely LOVES to play ball.
All Comanchi needs is a safe yard and a ball. He isn't asking for much. He is high energy when first taken out of his kennel, but quickly calms down. He jumped on me at first because he was SOOOO excited to meet me, but as the day went he learned the expectation of not jumping and responded very well to the word "down."
As you can see he is the MOST handsome boy.
