CRACKER JACK just might crack you up!! Our lower riding lovebug, graced with a huge, blocky head, is ready to love on you and make you laugh! Our friendly faced, kissy, waggy tailed fellow is enjoying working the crowd of new peeps and dogs here at the shelter with the end goal of making new friends. It's not that unusual that perhaps you see him hanging out in our office area (hoping to meet his new family of course) or maybe he's in a large doggy play group working off his wiggly hips while benefiting from a simple break from his kennel. Very social, interactive and friendly, he's a guy on the go and a little bit ADD as well!! LOL! Take a seat and especially for those he knows even a wee bit, well he'll hop right up into your lap and give you a facial. Cracker Jack is treat motivated but please, only higher value snacks as he has a discerning palate! We enjoy having Cracker Jack under our care, but at the end of the day, he's ready to be tucked into his new home where he can be a treasured pet. Might that person be you?
Facebook Update Aug 25: SPOTLIGHT ON CRACKER JACK!!!!
Someone just like YOU NEEDS CRACKER JACK now!!!
Our head turning fella already has started to decline in his kennel (yes, another one!) and he needs YOU and you need HIM!!
Just a year old, (45lbs) Cracker Jack has plenty of energy and so much love to give but has few outlets each day. He's getting frantic and literally begging folks as they walk by to please get him out..."Give me a break," "I need out," "Don't walk by me, help me!"
Cracker Jack has never met a stranger and has done well in doggy play groups and also has had kennel mates. His newer amped up self shows himself on a shorter fuse with other dogs. With the humans, take a seat in a play yard and he will fly into you lap and give you frantic kisses! He's doing what he can to let us know he needs out. Can you help? Will you help?
Warning: Cracker Jack is one of the coolest looking dogs. When you are out and about with him, folks will want to stop and meet your new friend. You will get swarmed. CJ will be 100% ok with the extra attention.
Facebook Update Sept 30: Look who earned a terrific foster review!!! It's our good friend CRACKER JACK! Our uber friendly, bouncy plus fella has beautifully set up shop in his temp home and showing what a good boy he is!! He's been waiting a while for his new family to discover him so he (and we!) are hopeful that perhaps this post connects him to his new family! Sound like your type of fun loving fella? Give us a call and let's get an appt on the books for you to meet Mr Fab. Note: 1 yr old; 45lbs. Very dog social.
Foster update: Cracker Jack is doing great. I am making sure he gets lots of exercise because he loves being outside. We are working on not jumping on counters and biting when he gets excited. But he is learning quickly. He is great with people, everyone loves him. He also loves kids. I think he'd do well with a family. Here are some photos of our most recent outings.
Foster Update Oct 11: I have never had a more well-behaved dog than Cracker Jack. He is the sweetest animal and just wants someone he can love on. He is fully crate-trained and house-trained and does well with everyone. He enjoys going on walks and giving kisses. CJ is so funny. When you pet him, he likes to fall back and play dead with his tongue sticking out! He is a little reserved around other dogs, but will warm up with time. For anyone looking for a loyal companion and unique personality, you can't go wrong with Cracker Jack. Thank you for giving me the pleasure of watching him.
Foster Update Oct 20: I can't believe it's been three weeks already with Cracker Jack. He has settled into the home life nicely, but still needs a forever family! He loves exploring outside and watching Clemson football. We are working on the "stay" command right now. Everytime we go outside CJ gets so many admirers. He is somewhat of a celebrity in my neighborhood. Cracker Jack is the best boy. He's super calm and never barks. Please consider adding CJ to your family.
