Your main ingredient for a Good Time is to make sure you have plenty of ZEKE by your side, in your life and in your home on call 24/7. Our steel grey jacketed friend has never met a stranger and is always pleased to share his big grin, waggy tail and swiveling hips with all. Sporting a more mid-size frame, he's a rather solid 46lbs of lovin' that's ready to go and do and yes, have run!! He can have some oomph when you first head out for a walk but will then nicely settle into a manageable exploratory pace. Our silly, goofy, playful minded boy is mildly interested in a tossed ball but is clearly more focused on checking out his surroundings and checking in with you. Zeke is terrific in doggy play groups and is a bit rough and rowdy so he beautifully works off some energy during this period of enrichment on site. Our powerhouse of fun and affection acts a bit younger than his 6yrs and he might say he still has plenty of tricks up his paws to bring you loads of enjoyment each day. Facebook Update Sept 4: We heard YOU were looking for a middle aged, solid grey bully mix and....curiouslly....you preferred dogs named ZEKE! Well, we have THE dog for you! Meet ZEKE!! Our handsome, uber friendly fella is currently in foster care and he's being the best boy. Zeke has done well in doggy play groups, sharing his kennel on site and has been a wonderful dog to care for at the shelter. Read about his foster time then connect with us so you can meet him. Foster update: Zeke is doing really well!! We are having a great time together! He has been great with both people and other dogs, as well as in the car. He's my favorite little sidekick to have around! He is very well house-trained! We have had no problems with anything of that sort. I have been attempting to teach him how to go up and down the stairs, so hopefully we can make some progress on that in the upcoming days. As far as crate training goes, I have never left him in a crate, but again, he has been great in the house, so I haven't even thought about a crate.
Facebook Udpate Sept 19: ZEKE is such a great boy!!! Thriving in foster care, he's getting lots of exposure to so many new activities and humans and dogs and just really doing a wonderful job. He still needs a full time pet job and as easy as he has been in foster care, perhaps he's the one for you!!
Foster update: Zeke is doing great!!! He is such a loving, friendly dog and has been so much fun to get to know. He is truly a bundle of joy! He absolutely loves chasing his ball, and when he gets excited, he does the cutest little bunny hops. He soaks up all the attention he can get and is wonderful around all kinds of people. We even took him to the First Friday Parade in Clemson, and he loved seeing everyone! Zeke does get a little scared with new things; he wouldn't go down our hallway for the first day, gets a little jumpy with loud noises (like trains and trucks), and was hesitant to get near the sparkly fringe or balloons on the parade floats. We just had to show him that those new things are ok and he is safe, and after that he is good to go!
He gets very excited around other dogs, and sometimes his enthusiasm can be a little intimidating because he has so much energy, but it is all coming from a place of love.
You would never guess that he is 6 years old! He still has all that puppy energy packed into his strong little body. He is such a fun, affectionate dog, and we have really enjoyed getting to know him so far!
