*Very, very sweet, gentle natured girl. A little bashful at first but eternally nice and very kind!! Great with other dogs. Excellent in foster care. No accidents in the house!! Loves car rides. The perfect co-pilot!
She's adorable and cute and kind and honestly, the sweetest ever!! Introducing our lovely black velvet Joan of Bark. Found as a stray, seems like someone should be really missing this amazing girl but alas, no one has come looking for her. This is where YOUR good luck kicks in as she's now available for you to bring home. Snuggly, loving, submissive, eternally in the hunt for belly rubs and ready to give you plenty of darting kisses, Joan is loaded with all kinds of great lovin.' Where you can really see her shine (except for when she is nuzzled right next to you!) is when she is in a doggy play group. Her tail is like a flag in the air, her head held high and her spirit is buoyant when surrounded by other dogs. Ask any volunteer about Joan and their face will light up and complimentary words will come gushing forward about her. She's lovely through and through.
Facebook Update Jan 14: Our beautiful, sleek black velvet lab mix arrived feeling pretty overwhelmed but day by day, she kept pulling up her brave boots further and further and now she's being the ideal foster doggy! YIPPEE!! Joan has done well with dogs at the shelter....very sweet and kind natured, erring on the submissive side. If she had a middle name it would be Gentle. Please ask about her today! Note: 1 yr old; 45lbs.
Foster update: She is doing great with crate training, she's slept well through the nights in her crate and will hang out in it throughout the day when she seems sleepy and ready for rest. She is doing okay with house training, she hasn't had any accidents in the house, but does not pee much in general! I think it's likely just stress and adjusting to a new environment, but no matter how many times we take her out throughout the day she only goes a couple of times. But again, no accidents so that's a positive!
