*Very friendly, slightly sassy, loving girl. Polite, loves fetch and her chew toys. Great on the leash.
*100% house trained and crate trained. Ok in car and better if the window is down a bit. Dog Selective.
Foster Update July 25: Foster update: Helga has been doing amazing and has settled in really well. She's been great in my apartment - she waits at the door, sits for her leash before it goes on, and doesn't move until she's told to go. She's been really sweet with people and loves to walk up and say hi, and she's been wonderful around children, too. She walks nicely on the leash, though she'll occasionally pull if she spots a squirrel, but she redirects easily. She hasn't shown any interest in my food at all and will just sit or lie down next to me while I eat.
Facebook Update March 6: Is HELGA The Flying Nun or simply a very close red-headed reincarnation of this Sally Field character? We're thinking she's a middle aged retriever looking for her new family but you can decide for yourself!!
Arriving as an almost bald stray last fall, she's been working very hard to regain her coat and now looks simply gorgeous. With some areas of her coat still filling in, this super friendly, slightly sassy gal with a mature feel about her, hopes it's her turn to head home. She's been in a longer term foster for some time now and more recently a short term foster. Her new foster reports:
*Greets everyone (both men and women) with a smile and wagging tail.
*Knows basic commands (sit, down, wait)
*Very polite, doesn't jump, takes treats gently and waits for her food to be placed.
*Dog selective and/or needs extra time to fully accept other dogs.
*100% housetrained and will let you know when she needs to go out. Kennel/crate trained.
*Loves playing fetch and will play for hours. Enjoys chew toys.
We're super proud of HELGA and after working so hard to regain her health, we can't wait for someone like YOU to ask to meet her!! Note: 4 yrs old; 60lbs
