Dogs are SO resilient! Check out best friends STORMY (black lab) and AIDEN (tan terrier mix). These lively, super friendly mid-sized doggies have not missed a beat since their arrival. Perhaps they are thinking this is a fun get away? It's exciting to be in a new environment and meet welcoming, happy faced humans? The reality is that their human just passed away and they are now homeless. We can only assume they were not updated. We are still getting to know them but what we have discovered thus far is that they are very playful, bouncy, loving and keep the good times rolling! Once we let them loose in our play yard, it was as if their batteries were recharging as they ran and galloped around, wrestled, chased after balls, played "tag you're it" and intermittently swarmed their new human friends with plenty of mini hugs, kisses and puppy vibes. Keep in mind Stormy is 10mos old and Aiden is 3yrs old and yet, they are graced with a bit of a puppy feel which is very appealing. These social, interactive friends are lovely on the leash and seemed open to meeting other dogs as we had them out and about. We can see Stormy and Aiden walking through YOUR neighborhood and folks coming out of the woodwork to meet them. They would be excellent in this role and would gladly fill that niche for you. Please ask for them today and also stay tuned in as we learn more about what makes them truly terrific companion pets. Note: Stormy (50lbs) and Aiden (43lbs) are a bit on the chunky side! Update Jan 20: Stormy was just adopted.
Facebook Update Jan 21: How can anyone resist THIS face?? Oh, please!! Introducing AIDEN who just hit our adoption floor. This handsome terrier mix is friendly, playful and ready to meet YOU! Sadly, his person just passed away and the doggy he arrived with was just adopted, so he's had a lot of sudden life changes. Remarkably, he's still smiling, wagging his tail and eager to make new friends. 3 yrs old and a pretty chunky 43lbs, he has his eye on his next big life change which is a home with YOU!!
Facebook Jan 26: Do you still have your eye on terrier mix AIDEN? Recall, this handsome fella just recently lost his person (they passed away) and the doggy friend he came in with was quickly adopted. Aiden has not missed a beat since his arrival and it's not usual to find him getting walked and or simply loved on here at the shelter. He's friendly, playful and ready to make friends. He was one of the lucky dogs who was selected as a Storm Foster this past week and he did GREAT! His family sent in a very detailed report card and we're super pleased to share that info with you now. Of note, he's 3 yrs old, 43lbs (very chunky), loaded with personality and curb appeal plus!! Aiden is back on site and ready to get back to pet work! He's a great boy who can't wait to get on with his life!
Foster detail:
*Housebroken. No accidents in the house. Sleeps through the night (11pm-9am). Crate trained.
*Loves to cuddle on the couch, good on the leash (can be a little strong at times), sits for treats and is an excellent counter surfer. LOL. He did "score" a whole bag of treats this way but gave them up without issue.
*Great with the foster dogs esp outside but a little resource guarding with them over human attention and toys inside but easily corrected.
*Did well with kids in the home but does not have infinite patience. Kids who understand and respect appropriate boundaries/rules for their pets will find a great friend in Aiden.
*Good in the car.
Facebook Update Feb 24: Our handsome boy AIDEN is still with us but how can that be??? Super friendly, playful and many might say the perfect size as not too large and not too small (about 40lbs), we had him out for some new pics and he rocked it out! He was really loving chasing and toting around tennis balls and he never tires of any and all human TLC. Aiden has patiently been waiting for his new home for over a month now. He wound up under our care when his human passed away and he's done an amazing job in trying to rebuild his life but he needs YOU to really make his life complete. Can you help him? Would you like to make his day and YOUR day by adding him to your home?? Note: Terrier mix; 3 yrs old. Came in with a female lab mix who went home within days of their arrival. Poor guy has been sitting. Boo hoo.
