New "shorter" bio May 12: Just look at this luscious lady! We call her SHADOW and yes, she's ready to be YOUR shadow...as she follows you around close nearby looking for love and attention...maybe some pets and hugs..and everything in between. Just 1.5 yrs old, our bully mix is fun central. She is a rock star in doggy play groups- effortlessly working the group of other dogs looking for a wrestling buddy or maybe someone to run shoulder to shoulder with. Very friendly, upbeat and social, Shadow loves hard, plays hard and just wants to have a good time and devote herself to her new family. Shadow has been at off site adoption events and also events at the Clemson campus and quickly and easily fits into new settings making friends and finding a good time no matter where she goes!! About 40lbs of solid bully/terrier goodness!!
To know me is to love me. When I know YOU, I love you. Very, very much! Don't be fooled if I'm a bit "cool" to you when we first meet. It's just how I am with new humans. My whole life has been turned upside down and settling into the shelter has been a bit hard. The great news is that I Iucked out in finding an amazing human here. He was very patient and just sat with me- no pressure- no agenda- just sat with me. He helped me over my hurdle and now, I absolutely swarm him with adoration. I kiss him with great passion. I hug him. I am in his lap. I love him with my whole heart. I share this because my new human friend is not able to adopt me but I wish for you to know all the pet potential you'll find in me if you give me a chance. In my comfort zone, I'm very affectionate, interactive, playful and have the perfect amount of pep and bounce in my step. All smiles, hip swivels and positive energy (once I know you!), I'm just 1.5 yrs old and many would say an ideal size just shy of 40lbs. Did I mention I'm also super cute and appealing in my snowy white coat and ridiculously cute ears that curve into each other sprouting out of my head? Facebook update Feb 4: Was it love at first sight? Well, it surely could have been!! We welcomed Clemson student Maggie back with open arms (we had not seen her since winter break) and she jumped right in and made a fast friend. What's really special about this series of pics is that it was not long ago that our 4 legged friend SHADOW was very scared and overwhelmed. She's made a huge turn around and now just look at her! Arriving with several other underserved dogs, she is cute, cute, cute, 1 yr old, 40lbs and ready to find her full time Valentine! She's snuggly, huggy, playful, social and interactive. Her perky/pointy ears almost criss cross each other and are the icing on the cake of this sweet delight! Please ask for Shadow today!
Facebook Update Feb 16: Here's something we love!!!
Meet Staff Member Isiah. He was very instrumental in helping SHADOW adjusting to the shelter when she first arrived. She was super frightened and Isiah took the time to just sit in her kennel and help her settle in. When we snapped these pics a couple of weeks ago, she was still rather shy around most folks but Isiah walked by when we were doing pics and her whole persona totally changed! We invited him in to help with pics and you can see how much she adores him.
Today, SHADOW is that kind of silly, sweet, kissy girl to everyone. She was leading a very challenging life prior to her arrival and would love nothing more to finally be a treasured family pet. She's currently sharing her space with YETI (from the same prior home) and the 2 of them are like jumping Mexican beans when they see folks coming their way and when they are in the play yard together. Please ask for SHADOW (1.5 yrs old) and while you are at it YETI (11mos) and give them the life they both deserve! Hope to hear from you soon!
Facebook Update March 5: How can you NOT smile when you see these lovely, lovely dogs out and about and having such a grand time? It was not that long ago when they arrived super thin and incredibly shy. Today, they are huge jumping beans of joy hoping you will notice them in our kennel area. Take them out for a walk and feel their love and complete joy of having full bellies, sun on their shoulders and love and TLC from the volunteers. Your adventure will continue when you let them loose in a play yard and watch the action amp up by adding rope toys to the mix. Who are these great doggies??? YETI and SHADOW! The fun and games begin now. They begin by adding YETI and or SHADOW to your home. Please ask for them today as already, they have been overlooked for adoption for 6 wks now. Check 'em out folks!! Facebook Update April 15: Go ahead. Hug me. Kiss me. Be tempted by my most amazing and curious ears! My name is SHADOW and folks are rallying hard around me to help match me up with my new family. I've been here a while now and while I'm a true friend to all and offer a full bodied interviewing experience (Uh, I'm pretty kissy, loving and in your lap kind of interactive!! LOL), still I've not gone home. About 40lbs and 1.5yr old, I'm a perfect size girl who has some extra pep in her step and a drive to play, interact and have a good time. I'm doing my best to work off some of my extra "zest" while remaining in my kennel most of the day (which is tough to do), so please keep in mind when we go home and you provide me with daily enriching activities and one on one time, you'll quickly find my wonderful inner calm self! It's a bit sad no one wishes for ME to be THEIR shadow so please, please ask for me, SHADOW today.
Update April 24: I had the best time yesterday afternoon. I was invited to join a doggy play group and it made my heart so very happy! I've earned the highest compliment in being called a "Rock Star" in play groups which means I'm a good friend to all, I initiate good/meaningful doggy banter and I keep everyone moving right along. I can be counted on as a solid, appropriate player in the groups and have my paws crossed that perhaps YOU might have the ideal playmate for me!!
May 12 Update: The spotlight was on wonderful me! Did you see me on the FoxCarolina 4 Legged Friends segment?? While I was not actually on the set, still I am feeling a bit like a celebrity as Kendra Kent chatted about how wonderful I am and how perfect I could be for YOU!
