Name, age, breed: Bodhie, approximately 9y/o, mixed breed

Likes: Going for walks (especially in the morning), dentastix, bully sticks, comfy beds, spending time with people and meeting new friends, sleeping under the covers, following you around the house.

Dislikes: Going outside in the rain (he will go out to relieve himself, but doesn't enjoy it!), baths in the tub (a bath in a walk-in shower or outside when weather allows is ok, though), getting his picture taken (camera shy). Overall he is quite a happy-go-lucky boy!

What would be the ideal home? Bodhie is the type of dog who will fit in with lots of different families! He would probably do best in a household that likes spending time outside and that can take him on a couple walks a day. A home with few stairs may be ideal in the long-term due to his hip dysplasia, but he currently navigates the stairs in his foster home just fine. Bodhie is gentle on the leash (with a harness) and could be easily walked by older people or children.

Good with cats? Yes! He is interested in cats, but not aggressively so. Cats in his forever home should ideally be dog-savvy, but I think he would adjust to an aloof or unfriendly cat, too.

Good with dogs? Yes. He is playful and gentle with the large male dog he currently lives with. He may prefer living with another dog.

Good with children? Unknown, but most likely yes. Toddlers might not be a great match for him as his hips could become sore if a toddler leaned on him the wrong way.

Temperament: Gentle, quiet, affectionate and friendly!

Motivators? Praise and attention, treats. He does not really care for toys.

Any commands? Sit, shake paw.

House trained? Yes - very well. He has not had any accidents in the house and will stand at the door when he needs to relieve himself.

Crate trained? Not sure yet.

How long will it take to settle into a new environment? It took him about two nights to settle in and go to bed with the rest of the household in his foster home and about 2 weeks to really start showing his personality.

Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Bodhie is a lovely dog who would make an excellent companion for a variety of families! Do not be fooled by his salt and pepper muzzle - he is full of beans! The only time I have seen him appear to be bothered by his hips was after some pretty rambunctious playing with his large canine foster brother, so if his forever home has other pets, calmer or older furry siblings may be a better fit (though he is often the one to initiate play in his foster home). He has lots of energy, but is also happy to relax with his people!

Medical: Hip Dysplasia, previous mass removal
