What would be the ideal home? A family with older children that can give her all the time, love and attention a puppy needs. Perhaps an older dog that can be patient with her.

Good with other cats? Yes

Good with dogs? Yes

Good with children? Older children, she does like to chew on fingers and she jumps up

Temperament: sweet, energetic, curious

Motivators? Treats, praise

Any commands? Learning "sit", "come" "off"

House trained? Getting there. She needs to be taken out as soon as she wakes up and after her meals. She poops 3-4 times a day.

Crate trained? Yes, when she is tired she will go in her crate to nap, provided her bed is in there. She loves her bed for naps. We only shut her in her crate at bedtime or if we have to leave the house. We don't leave her alone for long hours.

How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 3-3-3 rule: First 3 days - Your dog may be overwhelmed and may hide, have a lack of appetite, or test boundaries. Give them space and time to adjust in a quiet room with their bed, food, water, and toys. 3 weeks - Your dog may start to settle in and their personality will emerge. You can expect behavior issues to arise, so set boundaries and expectations with positive reinforcement training. 3 months - Your dog should be comfortable and acclimated to your home. They should know their routine and expect meals and enrichment at specific times.

Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Tommy is a sweet girl who loves to be praised and talked to and is food motivated. She's an "early to bed early to rise" kind of girl. She wants a family who has time for a busy puppy and can provide her with the space to explore safely and the patience to allow her to grow, make mistakes and learn. She likes to jump and nip clothing when on walks so we have been teaching her "off". We try to keep a chew toy handy to distract her if she starts to chew on little or big fingers. She loves to crawl into your lap to give kisses or curl up for a quick nap.
