9/8/2022 Introducing Lucky

Bio:
* 3 Years Old
* 150 pound, neutered male
* Brindlequin markings
* Located in Urbandale, IA

Basic Info:
* Super sweet boy who is very smart and picks up on things quite easily
* Enjoys lots of attention and affection from his people
* Knows a few basic commands (sit/shake etc)
* Does well with being kenneled but currently is not kenneled in his foster home as he has proven to be a nondestructive trustworthy boy. He is baby gated to one room, but only because there are other pets in the home, otherwise he would be trusted with the run of the house.
* Currently in a foster home with cats. He shows curiosity but they avoid him at all times so no interaction has been observed.
* No known history with children or interactions with kids since being in foster care. He has met kids a couple times on walks, paid little attention and was appropriate if they wanted to pet. Foster mom adds he is a big dog with seemingly no sense of his size so may be a bit much for small children.

Likes:
* Walks! This is one of his favorite pastimes; he enjoys taking in all the sights and sniffing things along the way.
* Stuffed toys- He will snuggle and sleep with them on his bed.
* Spending time with foster parents
* Treats, he is very food motivated and responds well when offered any/all treats. He takes them ever so gently.
* Car rides he LOVES to go on car rides and take in the sights.

Dislikes:
* Loud noises (boisterous people/cars/thunder etc). He prefers to take his walks in quieter areas of town without a lot of traffic. People yelling or being extremely loud seem to concern him and he will will flinch and cower. It appears he may not have been treated well in the past, so soft direction makes him feel safer.
* He has shown resource guarding with food/toys. He has dominant tendencies and wants to be "top dog". He would really love to have a home where he is the sole dog to be doted on and loved!

Medical Notes:
* He was diagnosed with Lyme disease and treated. His forever home should always be on the lookout for Lyme symptoms in the future and treat as necessary.

Hard Requirements For Forever Home:
* Physically fenced yard. He has poor recall and foster parents think he would chase wandering animals if given the opportunity.
* Must be the only dog in the forever home due to the resource guarding.
