Meet Slade - Your Very Own British Rock Legend (Without the Guitar Smashing)!
Turn up the volume and get ready to meet Slade, a nearly 5-year-old sweetheart who's smoother than a classic rock ballad and twice as charming. All the ladies say he's the sweetest doggo around-and honestly, they're absolutely right. He's got that gentle, heart-melting charisma that could sell out stadiums.
Slade was lucky enough to live in a foster home with two young fans (ages 11 and 9) and does brilliantly with them. He can rock with younger kids too, though sudden movements can sometimes startle him, so gentle interactions are his preferred style-like acoustic set vibes over heavy metal chaos.
He's a real social butterfly backstage, especially with other dogs. He tends to click especially well with females, but he'll happily warm up to the boys too... particularly if biscuits are involved. Treats are his autograph currency.
Slade hasn't been tested with cats yet, so we're not sure how he'd feel about adding a feline percussionist to his band-but he's open to possibilities.
This laid-back lad is more "Sunday afternoon listening to The Beatles" than "mosh pit mayhem." A 20-minute daily walk is perfect for him, followed by plenty of chill time to relax, reflect, and maybe roll in some leaves like he's headlining Glastonbury. Volunteers adore him-he's a rock-steady walker, calm in the play yard, a pro traveler, and an absolute champion at catching treats... so long as the humans can keep up.
He's house-trained, charming, gentle, and perfectly content in a home with a predictable, cozy routine. Slade isn't looking for fame; he's looking for family.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open every day from noon to 6pm (excluding limited holidays/events). You can meet our adoptable animals with the convenience of an appointment or as a walk-in. Appointments can be made by emailing adoption@wilcotx.gov.
In addition to our main shelter at 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX 78626, you can also meet adoptable dogs at our satellite location, the Red Poppy Adoptique, located at 110 W L Walden Dr, Georgetown, TX 78626.

Looking for a fun way to make a difference? Try our Doggy Day Out program! Take one of our pups on an adventure for a few hours-giving them a much-needed break from the shelter while you enjoy some quality time. The program runs at both locations daily starting at noon.
