If you find Timmy on the way to a play yard, you'll notice a giant stuffed toy in his mouth. That's his favorite way to travel! Once he's in the yard, that's where he really shines. He'll take a dip in the dog pool, play with toys, and, of course, get some scratches from friends. His handlers at the shelter helped him learn how to play two-toy fetch, a skill he'd love to show you! He'll wrap up his outing by finding a shady spot to relax and chew on his toy until it's time to go back to his kennel.
After 289 days living in a kennel, Timmy had a volunteer take him home for an overnight to get a break from the shelter. He just wanted to be near her, snuggle, chew on some toys, and sleep. He settled in for the night at her feet on the couch and snoozed all the way through to morning. He was a fantastic houseguest!
Timmy will need some time and extra support to decompress in a home. Luckily, the shelter has a great Behavior Coordinator who will be there to counsel you on how to set Timmy up for success in your household. If you would like to meet Timmy, email wcras-behavior@wilcotx.gov to schedule an appointment!
