Aura came to the shelter 9 months ago as a very scared, under-socialized young dog. With time, patience, and kindness, she has made incredible progress. She has learned to trust and is now showing interest in meeting new people.
Aura has always enjoyed the company of other dogs and has even had a couple of shelter breaks with one of her main handlers, where she did well in his home and with his dog. Her leash manners continue to improve every day, and she enjoys treats, always taking them very gently. She is house trained as long as she gets outside regularly.
She loves spending time in a yard, playing with toys, and squeaky toys are by far her favorite. Aura also enjoys relaxing on a raised bed and soaking up the sunshine. She is an independent lady who is open to receiving gentle pets on occasion.
Aura is looking for a kind and patient family who will let her move at her own pace. She would do best with adopters willing to visit the shelter several times so she can get to know them and build trust before going home.
If you have a gentle heart and the patience to help a deserving dog continue to blossom, Aura may be the perfect companion for you.
