How I Arrived At NHS: We were part of an unwanted litter but were too young so went into a foster home.
We're back at the shelter now and ready to find our new homes.
Notes from my foster mom: Irena came to stay with me when her kittens were only a few weeks old. Irena was a great mom, but now that all her kittens have been adopted, Irena is ready for a home of her own. Irena is friendly and affectionate with people. She warms up quickly to new people and will ask for attention by lying next to you while purring and rolling onto her back. It has been fun to see her playful side emerge now that she's not having to care for kittens anymore. She especially likes to chase wand toys but will sometimes bat her toy mouse around by herself. She also likes to sit in the window and watch the birds and squirrels outside. She only met our pets through a gate as we didn't want to cause her stress while she was raising her babies. She was very scared anytime she saw our dog; in fact, this was the only time I've ever heard her hiss. She actually jumped over the gate a few times to check out our cats and didn't really react at all to them. She seemed curious and would watch them but always stayed a few feet away. I think she would prefer a dog free home but it seems like she may be ok living with cats. Irena is a sweet and fun girl and has been a joy to foster. She will make a great addition to her new family!

Cats are feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus tested (if applicable), if there is a litter, one in the litter is tested or the queen is tested. They have had at least their first distemper combo (booster given if been in our care for the appropriate time), been de-wormed, microchipped, and treated with a flea and tick product (if applicable). All the cats are spayed or neutered before they leave for their forever homes.
