Fred (6 years, 75 pounds) has every reason to give up on people... but somehow, he hasn't. This sweet boy has known more pain than any dog should. We don't know everything he's been through, but his scars-inside and out-tell a story of survival. Despite his eyes full of fear, when we reached out a hand, he took a chance and leaned in.
Fred is gentle. He is quiet. He loves slowly, deeply, and without conditions. He'll sit beside you for hours, just happy to be near someone kind. He still flinches at sudden movements, but give him patience-and he'll give you his whole heart.
He doesn't ask for much: a soft place to sleep, a warm meal, and someone who won't walk away when things aren't perfect.
Fred may be broken in places-but he is not beyond repair. His heart still believes.
