Meet Smore! This beautiful chocolate lady is still finding her footing in the shelter and learning to feel comfortable in her new surroundings. The world can feel a little overwhelming to her right now, so she appreciates gentle friends who give her time to take things at her own pace.

Smore walks pretty well on the leash, although unexpected sights or sounds can startle her. A calm walking companion who lets her pause and build confidence will help her along the way. Once she feels a little more comfortable, she will approach for gentle pets-a sweet little moment of trust that makes getting to know her so special.

Smore is looking for a patient adopter who will celebrate those small steps and give her the reassurance she needs to blossom. With time, kindness, and a cozy place to settle in, this tenderhearted girl can begin discovering just how comforting life with her very own person can be.
Smore is settling into a short-term foster home, where she's getting time and space to feel comfortable. New surroundings were overwhelming at first, but once inside, she explored a little before settling into a quiet room for some much-needed rest. She showed no reaction to a cat through a barrier or a nearby bunny, although those brief encounters don't establish compatibility with other animals. This sensitive girl would benefit from patient adopters who allow her to build trust at her own pace. Smore is looking for a soft place to land with understanding people who will celebrate her small steps and give her the opportunity to blossom.

Smore has met other dog pals at BARCS, she does best with gentle dog pals.

MVP Up to Bat! I'm a BARCS MVP because I was stressed in the shelter and may try to run when I'm scared. I need gentle handling and time to warm up. Sometimes I need a little extra space from other pups when I feel overwhelmed.! Please contact our Dog Foster team at dogfosters@barcs.org to connect with my foster family, and get to know me better! I can't wait to meet you.

Every animal deserves a home run! BARCS MVPs are overlooked pets in the shelter. Thanks to the generous support of the Alonso, Basallo, and Bradish Baltimore Orioles families, all MVP animals have waived adoption fees AND will go home with a brand new leash and collar or cat carrier.
