Meet Sicily! This 4-year-old, 51.8-lb lady walks on a very loose leash, sniffing the ground carefully. If you take a break to sit on a bench, she approaches for gentle pets and scratches. This gentle girl is starting to relax enough to be curious about treats! She also appears to be housetrained.
Sicily recently attended an adoption event and she charmed everyone with her calm and sweet personality. She stayed calmly resting even as children at the event ran laps around her! She can be a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up and shows how loving she is. Once she is comfortable, she comes over to make new friends, leaning in for pets and even rolling over for belly rubs. She is a super snuggler!
Sicily was eager to get in the car and after some reassurance with gentle pets she curled up to take a nap. While exploring the store, she was fascinated by the other animals. She curiously observed the birds in cages and the cats in nearby carriers. Everyone commented on how well she did with the other critters so close by. One of the cat fosters even put a cat carrier at her level to help the kitties adjust to seeing dogs. Sicily gave a sniff and observed them, maintaining her calm, collected self. She did well coexisting with the other dogs present at the event, too!
Sicily has met other dogs at the shelter, and she does best with tolerant and socially savvy male friends. She may need to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.
Come down to BARCS and meet Sicily!
