Meet Brewster, a sunshine-loving sweetheart with a paw ready to offer and plenty of affection to share! This adorable 4-year-old, 56-pound girl enjoys life's simple pleasures: lounging in the yard, rolling onto her back, and soaking up gentle pets from her human friends. Are you wanting a house hippo who loves laying in the grass and getting belly rubs? Look no further!
Brewster is a lovely walking buddy who's easy to handle on leash and enjoys exploring the trails. She doesn't seem bothered by the dogs she passes and likes to check in with her handler-especially when a tasty treat might be waiting! She knows "sit" and happily offers her paw, sometimes before you even ask.
Brewster had a fun Dog's Day Out adventure with a volunteer and she was the best companion and walking buddy! She was so excited for the car ride and loved feeling the wind in her ears. When they arrived to the park she immediately rolled in the grass. They started their walk in the woods and by the water and she smelled all the smells! She was intrigued by the sand and waves. Nothing phased her - she kept her cool around bikes, dogs, kids - she just wanted to be in the sun, laying in the grass, and loved on. She laid her head in her new friend's lap and gazed up with her eyes that could melt an iceberg!
After a little adventure, Brewster is perfectly content to join you by a bench for some quiet companionship and extra affection. Her sweet, easygoing nature makes spending time together feel pretty special. Brewster is already altered and ready to go home today.
Brewster would prefer to be the only dog in her future home, but she is also eligible to return to BARCS for social sessions to help her meet and get to know other dogs.
With her sweet nature, easygoing personality, and love of both walks and relaxing in the sunshine, Brewster is sure to make a wonderful companion. She is currently in the comfort of a foster home. If you're interested in meeting her, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps!
MVP Up to Bat! I'm a BARCS MVP because I'm still getting comfortable with having my leash unclipped. I can also get excited when people come and go, sometimes jumping, mouthing, or barking. I'd do best as the only dog at home, but I'm still eligible for dog socials at BARCS! Please come down to the shelter to get to know me better! I can't wait to meet you.
Every animal deserves a home run! BARCS MVPs are overlooked pets in the shelter. Thanks to the generous support of the Alonso, Basallo, and Bradish Baltimore Orioles families, all MVP animals have waived adoption fees AND will go home with a brand new leash and collar or cat carrier.
