Meet Athenia, a sweet and affectionate 2-year-old girl who weighs 50.2 pounds. Athenia was very shy when she first arrived at the shelter, but with a little patience and plenty of treats, she began to feel safe. It has been wonderful watching her blossom into the playful, goofy, and loving girl she is today!
Athenia loves heading out for walks and happily sniffs her way along the trails. She is gentle and easy to leash, and if you stop to rest on a bench, she will eagerly hop her front paws into your lap to give you the softest kisses and soak up pets and scratches.
This happy girl also loves romping around the yard, playing with her toys, and showing off her adorable wiggles and zoomies. She has even enjoyed playing with other gentle, goofy dogs at the shelter. Athenia may need a little time to feel comfortable with someone new, but treats are a wonderful way to earn her trust. Once she knows you, her beautiful smile and affectionate personality truly shine!

Athenia has met other dogs at the shelter, she does best with polite friends and may need to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match. She is eligible to come back to BARCS for social sessions.
