Werthers can be shy when meeting someone new and may need a little encouragement before heading out, but a tasty treat and a patient friend help him feel more comfortable. Once outside, he walks nicely on the leash while carefully taking in everything around him. When his volunteer sat down on the curb, Werthers bravely came over and accepted gentle pets, showing that he wants to connect even when he is feeling unsure.
The real magic happens when Werthers begins to trust you. As he relaxes, his worried expression melts away and the happiest, most handsome smile appears! He is sweet, loving, and affectionate. He loves treats, accepts them very politely, and is easy to return to his kennel after his walk. He has the most perfect "sit."
Werthers prefers polite dog pals, and he would like to meet any potential roommates to be sure they are a good match. He is completely unbothered by the community cats out on the trail.
