Jeeves is a sweet and curious boy! Everything is wonderful and exciting to him...so many smells to sniff and dog friends to see. This 2-year-old, 32-pound pup is easy to leash up and walks pretty well on leash. He arrived at the shelter a bit underweight and is gaining a few healthy pounds. Once he has a little time to get comfortable, he happily accepts snacks and shows off that he knows "sit." He's very food, motivated and eager to engage with you.
Jeeves is a certified super sniffer who loves exploring the trail. He is interested in other dogs but easily redirected. Best of all, Jeeves tries his hardest to crawl into his new friend's lap and shower them with kisses. This guy is so happy and has SO MUCH love to give. He's so silly and affectionate.
Jeeves was a superstar at an adoption event, where he served as the official patio greeter and showed off his smart tuxedo style. He was truly the life of the party, eager to meet and greet everyone who came his way. Jeeves knows no strangers-only new best friends!
He enthusiastically welcomed everyone with nonstop tail wags, hugs, kisses, and snuggles. He was especially happy to interact with all the kids and absolutely thrived on the attention. His tail didn't stop-and, honestly, neither did he! He had a blast showing everyone just how fun, playful, affectionate, and goofy he is.
After getting all his sniffs and snuggles in, Jeeves enjoyed playing with toys and proved that he can even catch them when they're tossed to him. He is very food motivated and loves treats, but he's also happy to work for pieces of kibble!
Jeeves may need a little reassurance when first getting into the car so he knows you're still with him, but he settles in and rides nicely. He would be a wonderful match for an active, outgoing adopter-the perfect companion for a hike followed by a trip to the brewery!
This handsome, high-energy boy has been spending time in a short-term foster home, where his playful, affectionate personality is shining through.
Jeeves loves being active and recently joined his foster family for a hike, where he did a great job! He generally walks well on the leash and is working on staying focused without pulling when other dogs pass by. He would be a wonderful match for someone looking for an enthusiastic walking, hiking, or adventure buddy.
At home, Jeeves enjoys playing with his ball almost as much as he loves snuggling and staying close to his people. He has done well when left alone for short periods and has been friendly when meeting new people. His foster home includes two cats, and while Jeeves likes to watch them, he has responded well when reminded to "leave it." He also listens when redirected from rabbits outside.
Jeeves is still working on housetraining and his foster family is helping him learn a consistent routine and practicing commands like "sit", "leave it" and "potty outside". His future family should be prepared to continue this training with patience and positive reinforcement.
Jeeves likes to play chase with his dog pals and he requests to meet any potential roommates to be sure they are a good match.
