Meet Mr. Baby, a handsome 1-year-old, 48-pound pup with a soft soul and a joyful personality just waiting to shine!
When Mr. Baby arrived to the shelter, the loud kennel rooms were understandably overwhelming for him. Once given a break from the noise, however, he relaxed and began showing everyone what a sweet, playful boy he truly is. He was promoted to full-time "office dog" and has proven to be an absolute dream coworker.
Mr. Baby has been housetrained at the shelter, goes quietly into his crate at night, and patiently waits for his morning walk. He can also be left loose in the office like a total gentleman. He may bark once or twice, but he settles quickly and spends his time resting on his blankets or entertaining himself with his beloved squeaky balls.
When the office door is gated open, Mr. Baby is content to sit and watch the daily activity. He simply enjoys feeling included and being part of the team. When his favorite people stop by, he greets them with a loose, wiggly body, happy circle zoomies, and plenty of enthusiasm for pets.
Outside is where Mr. Baby really comes alive. He loves exploring the trails, playing with toys in the yard, and stopping to investigate all the best sniffing spots. He is easy to leash and walks nicely, although he may pull a little when an especially interesting scent catches his attention. Mr. Baby is very food motivated and loves playing "find it" with treats, which should make future training both fun and rewarding.
Mr. Baby spent the weekend with a volunteer, where he proved himself to be both a gentleman and a very smart boy! He knows "sit," comes when called, stays off the furniture, and even resisted the temptation to eat food that was left within his reach. He definitely wanted it-the look in his eyes said it all-but this polite boy showed impressive self-control!
Mr. Baby loves playing fetch, although you shouldn't count on getting the ball back right away! He also enjoys tug-of-war, walks, playing in the yard, and keeping his person in sight-even outside, where he regularly checked in to make sure his volunteer was safe.
During his weekend adventure, Mr. Baby took a few field trips and enjoyed the most delightful pup cup. Getting into the car wasn't his favorite part, and he seemed a little anxious during the ride, but he still joined in on the adventure.
Smart, playful, loyal, and wonderfully well-mannered, Mr. Baby is proving what a fantastic companion he can be!
Mr. Baby has met other pups here - he is tolerant and peacefully coexists in the play yard. He prefers calm and gentle playmates, and requests to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.
