Meet Desdemona! This beautiful 3½-year-old, 49-pound girl is a sweet soul who is waiting for the right person to help her feel safe enough to let her personality shine. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was a shy girl. Over time she has blossomed into an affectionate, social pup who loves meeting new human friends!
Out and about on her walks, Desdemona is an absolute dream-easygoing, pleasant, and completely unfazed by distractions along the path, constantly checking in with her human companion. She even passed a small dog without pulling or showing much reaction. Her happy, eager trot comes complete with an adorable signature booty bounce and a heart-melting head tilt that will steal your soul.
Training is a breeze with this clever girl-she's delightfully food-motivated and eager to learn for a delicious reward. Give her a yard and a pile of toys, and she'll happily stage her own joyful solo performances. This sweet girl also appears to be housetrained during her stay here.
Desdemona was a shining star at a recent event, where she was completely unfazed by hanging out with the cats, dogs, and kids. She let lots of people meet her and greeted her favorites with gentle sniffs and kisses. She even flopped over for some belly rubs. She had a lot of fun exploring and sniffing and also liked playing with a ball. She got many compliments on how calm and well behaved she was, and she made lots of new friends.
Desdemona has met other dogs at the shelter, she is a gentle girl who does best with polite friends.
Desdemona doesn't need someone perfect. She just needs someone patient enough to give a nervous girl a chance.
