Top Ten 6 (Coco) spent some time in a foster home and has already made incredible progress! While she was understandably overwhelmed when she first left the shelter, her foster family says she's the sweetest girl and blossoms a little more every day.
On her first day, Coco was so timid that she needed to be carried to the car and into the apartment because she was too scared to walk on leash. But within just a few hours, she was happily letting her foster family clip on her leash and heading out for walks! She's continuing to gain confidence every day, even conquering stairs and slowly becoming more comfortable walking through doorways with a little patience and encouragement.
Coco loves exploring the world at her own pace. She walks beautifully on leash without pulling and isn't reactive to people or other animals, preferring to quietly observe and sniff everything around her. If something makes her nervous, she'll simply pause for reassurance before continuing on.
Inside the home, Coco is a calm, gentle companion. She isn't destructive, enjoys following her people from room to room, and simply wants to be close to those she trusts. She's discovered that belly rubs and head scratches are some of her favorite things, and she's as sweet as they come. She's also wonderfully quiet, rarely barking and only occasionally whining while she continues learning that her crate is a safe place.
Coco is still working on a few skills. She isn't house trained yet and is learning that outside is the place to potty. She's also still building confidence with her crate, though she's making steady progress with a consistent routine. She has started learning "sit," enjoys chewing on bones, and recently celebrated her first pup cup!
Her foster family has kept her separated from their resident dog, but she has shown lots of curiosity about her canine roommate and seems interested in making a new friend when the time is right.
Coco is looking for a patient adopter who will let her continue discovering how wonderful life can be. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding, and her foster family knows she's going to make an amazing companion. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate dog who will repay your kindness with unwavering love, come meet Top Ten 6 (Coco)!
