Robert 7 is a gentle soul looking for a patient family to help him build his confidence. He may be a little shy when you first meet him, but it doesn't take long for his sweet personality to shine-especially if you have a few tasty treats! He's very interested in treats, making them a great way to earn his trust and help him continue building confidence. He leashes up easily and walks nicely, often looking back to check in with his person for a little reassurance, making him a wonderful companion to explore the world with.
One of the first things you'll notice about Robert is his mesmerizing eyes-they're as soulful as his personality. Since arriving at the shelter, he has already started to come out of his shell, and it's been wonderful to watch his confidence grow a little more each day. He's starting to become a social butterfly, and will excitedly trot over to say hello when his favorite volunteer friends enter the play yard.
Even when he's feeling a little unsure, it's clear that Robert wants to trust the people around him and looks to them for comfort. He knows "sit" (when he's in the mood to show off!) and enjoys gentle pets, happy tail wags, and sharing soft, sweet kisses. Robert 7 can be a bit hesitant around new doorways and thresholds, but with patience, encouragement, and love, he's sure to continue blossoming. Once he feels comfortable, don't be surprised if he greets you with enthusiastic tail wags and excitement to show just how happy he is to see you. Robert 7 has met other dogs at the shelter, he can be a little pushy with his friends and will need to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match.
