Robert 5 (Nala) has shown herself to be such a gentle soul. She's patient while being leashed, walks nicely by your side, and loves taking a break for pets, belly rubs, and-of course-some tasty treats! Her calm, affectionate nature makes her a joy to spend time with.

Robert 5 (Nala) has been thriving in her foster home and becoming more outgoing and curious every day. As she's settled into home life, her personality has continued to blossom, and she's showing everyone just what a wonderful companion she can be.

Nala is still working on housetraining and does best with frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement. She's beginning to understand that going potty outside earns her a tasty treat and is making steady progress with her routine. Like many dogs adjusting to a new home, she still has accidents indoors, especially if she's left alone, but her foster family is helping her build good habits through consistency and patience.

This smart girl is eager to learn and is currently working on "sit," "wait," and "paw." She picks up on training quickly, especially when treats are involved, and enjoys showing off what she's learned.

On walks, Nala is a lovely companion who usually stays right by your side. She enjoys stopping to investigate interesting smells and taking in the world around her. Occasionally something unfamiliar will make her want to head back toward home, and rainy weather is definitely not her favorite, but overall she is a wonderful walking partner.

Nala has met plenty of new people and continues to impress everyone she encounters. She recently accompanied her foster family to a pet-friendly bar to watch the World Cup Final, where she peacefully curled up at her foster mom's feet and happily greeted adults and children alike. She loved meeting new friends, enjoyed gentle pets from kids, and even wanted to join in when they were playing a game nearby. Despite all the activity, she remained relaxed and unfazed by the busy environment.

When it's time to play, Nala absolutely loves a game of fetch with her favorite stuffed toys. She also enjoys enrichment activities, like searching for treats hidden in cardboard boxes, and she's becoming more playful as her confidence grows. Her energy level has continued to increase as she recovers from surgery, and she has even enjoyed going for a jog with her foster family.

Nala is happiest when she's close to her people. She is a true velcro dog who loves leaning against you, resting beside you, and making gentle contact whenever possible. At 35 pounds she is the perfect snuggle size. One of her favorite ways to show affection is by giving adorable little nose boops, and she has a funny habit of trying to clean everyone's ears with kisses. She sleeps soundly through the night and has a wonderfully gentle, loving personality.

Like many dogs settling into a new home, Nala is still building confidence when spending time on her own. She feels most comfortable when she knows her people are nearby, and her foster family has been helping her develop independence through routine, enrichment, and patience. With continued consistency and love, she's sure to keep making wonderful progress.

Nala continues to discover the world around her with curiosity. She is fascinated by mirrors, often watching her reflection-or yours-with quiet interest. Loud engines and even thunderstorms haven't seemed to bother her, making her an easy companion for everyday adventures.
If you're looking for a smart, incredibly sweet companion with a gentle heart and endless potential, Robert 5 (Nala) is ready to find the patient, loving forever home she's been waiting for. With continued consistency and love, this affectionate girl is sure to blossom into an amazing lifelong best friend.

Robert 5 has met other dogs at the shelter, she can be a little tense at first and does best with gentle friends.

Robert 5 is currently in the comfort of a foster home. If you're interested in meeting her, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps!
