Meet Robert 1 (Star)! This sweet 5-year-old mama is already making a wonderful impression on everyone she meets. She's an easygoing girl who leashes up without a fuss and is a pleasure to walk. Friendly, affectionate, and full of happy wiggles, Star is always so excited to be with her people that she's even a bit of a challenge to photograph because she's constantly on the move! She also appears to be housetrained.
While Star is a wonderfully gentle and loving companion, she can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations. Give her a little patience and reassurance, and she settles in beautifully, revealing the calm, affectionate girl she truly is.
Star recently spent time in a short-term foster home, where she proved just how easy she is to live with. She settled into home life almost immediately, showing off her calm, well-mannered personality. Despite her playful side, she's surprisingly low-key and is perfectly happy relaxing by your side.
She's a lovely walking companion, only pulling a little if she catches an especially interesting scent to investigate. Otherwise, she strolls along nicely and certainly isn't trying to walk you! At home, Star slept soundly through the night without crying or showing any stress when separated from her people. She was also wonderful with the other dogs in the home, remaining calm, relaxed, and respectful.
Star enjoyed a Dog's Day Out adventure with a volunteer and had the best time. This gentle, silly girl was a little shy at first but quickly let her sweet personality shine. With some encouragement and treats she hopped into the car and headed off to get a pup cup (which she thoroughly enjoyed!). Once she made it back to her new friend's apartment, she proved to be a very curious but respectful house guest - sniffing everything very intently while remaining gentle. She was especially interested in the bedroom mirror, quickly making a new friend that she could not stop staring at (her own reflection!). She went on a walk around Federal Hill and Riverside, and she was good on her leash. She stopped to sniff everything around her but was easy to redirect. After her quick stroll she was ready to go back inside for a nap and snuggles.
Star has met other dogs at the shelter, she is a gentle playful girl!
