Meet King Casserole! This handsome boy recently spent time in a foster home, where he quickly proved himself to be an easygoing, well-mannered companion. His foster stay gave everyone a chance to see just how seamlessly he settles into home life, and he's now ready to find a forever family of his own.

King Casserole is the definition of an easy houseguest. He's fully housetrained with no accidents, has excellent manners around the home, and relaxes beautifully when left alone. Whether he's lounging with a favorite toy or quietly entertaining himself, he's content and low-maintenance, making him an easy addition to almost any household.

On walks, King Casserole is a pleasure to have by your side. He rarely pulls on leash unless he's excited, and his foster notes that a harness helps him walk even more comfortably. He enjoys observing the world around him, happily notices people and other dogs, and is easily redirected with treats if something catches his attention. Gentle when taking treats and eager to please, he's a fun dog to work with.

King Casserole is wonderfully social with people. He attended the Towson PetSmart adoption event, where he charmed men, women, and children alike. He especially impressed everyone with how patient and gentle he was with three young children, including one between 4 and 6 years old and two older elementary-aged kids. Even children who were initially a little nervous around dogs quickly warmed up to him thanks to his calm, polite demeanor. His foster shared that he was occasionally vocal when meeting people, but it seemed to be more excitement about wanting affection than anything else.

This smart boy already knows "sit," "paw," and "lie down," and he's currently working on "stay." He's very food motivated and enjoys learning new things. His foster has been using treats to practice trading toys, and he's responding wonderfully to the training. Belly rubs are another favorite reward-if you even hint that you're willing to give him one, he'll happily flop over and wait.

Around the house, King Casserole strikes a wonderful balance between affectionate and independent. He enjoys spending time with his people and doesn't mind snuggling, but he's also perfectly content stretching out nearby and relaxing on his own. His low-to-medium energy level makes him an excellent companion for someone looking for a dog who enjoys walks and outings but is equally happy spending a quiet evening at home.

King Casserole has also shown promising social skills with other dogs. He has met other dogs at BARCS and he appears to do well with polite canine companions.

With his excellent house manners, friendly personality, gentle nature with children, polite interactions with other dogs, and eagerness to learn, King Casserole has all the makings of a wonderful family companion. If you're looking for an affectionate, easygoing dog who will happily join you for walks, enjoy plenty of belly rubs, and then relax by your side at the end of the day, King Casserole may be your perfect match.

King Casserole is currently enjoying the comforts of a foster home. If you're interested in meeting him, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps.
