There's so much to brag about Wispy (Skye), where to start?! You may first notice her confident beauty and beaming smile. Wispy boasts a soft, snowy blonde coat but perhaps her most striking feature is her eyes which are two different colors. She is 5 years old, female, mixed breed and weighs 59lbs. Wispy has many unique traits that make her a very special friend, even beyond her appearance. Wispy is perhaps best known for her extroverted, social personality. She quickly earned a reputation around the shelter for her friendliness - Wispy LOVES playing with dogs of all sizes at the shelter! She is a tolerant buddy who can co-exist, play gently or rough house with other shelter doggos.
This is actually Wispy's second time she's found herself at the shelter, through no fault of her own. Wispy most recently arrived as a stray. We are surprised that no one has come to claim this amazing pup! It's clear that Wispy is a family-oriented gal who has experiencing living in a home. She has shown house broken tendencies and even knows "sit"! Wispy thrives in the company of others and would be elated to have any human or doggy siblings in her future home.
Wispy Skye is a resilient sweetheart who has proven that she never allows life's challenges to dampen her spirit. She is a bright, lively and playful pup with her whole life ahead of her. This fun-loving girl recently spent time in a short-term foster home, where she showed she's ready to keep up with an active family. She has lots of energy and would thrive with adopters who enjoy long walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of playtime. She even took a trip to the NCR Trail, where she walked beautifully, showing curiosity toward other dogs without any reactivity.
One thing that truly stood out was how wonderful Wispy was with children. She was incredibly gentle with a toddler, even politely ignoring food the little one was carrying around. Her foster couldn't say enough about her sweet, patient nature with kids.
Wispy also did great sleeping in her crate overnight and was completely unfazed by the family's in-ground pool. Around the resident cats, she showed playful curiosity rather than a strong prey drive, happily investigating them through the baby gate.
Wispy is a smart, athletic girl, and her future family should know that she's also a bit of an escape artist! She was able to hop over a lower, 4-foot section of the fence to explore the neighborhood, so she'll do best in a home with a secure, taller fence or with careful supervision while outdoors.
Wispy has met other dog pals at BARCS, she is bouncy with her friends.
