Meet Daisy Green, a sweet, wiggly girl who truly lives up to her "good girl" reputation. She's full of happy energy and greets every day with enthusiasm, ready to sniff around the yard, chase a favorite toy, or simply spend time with her people. Daisy loves to play, especially when it comes to fetch-whether it's chasing after a ball or enthusiastically shaking around a rope toy. Her pink spiky ball has long been a favorite, and she's recently added a beloved frog toy to her collection. One of her happiest activities is racing around the yard with joyful zoomies before flopping onto her back for silly wiggles in the grass.
She already knows "sit" and will patiently stay when asked. Daisy is very treat motivated, takes treats gently, and enjoys fun training games like "chase the treat." She responds especially well to hand signals and visual communication, making her a fun and attentive dog to work with. Her foster has noticed she may have some hearing impairment, as she doesn't always respond to sounds, particularly while sleeping, but she adapts beautifully by watching her people closely and readily responding to visual cues.
On walks, Daisy has continued making wonderful progress in her foster home. The addition of a harness has made a tremendous difference, and she's becoming an increasingly enjoyable walking companion every week. She still keeps a close eye on squirrels (they're definitely not her favorite!), but she no longer pulls the way she did when she first arrived and is easy to redirect. She has also remained calm around other dogs on walks, making neighborhood strolls relaxed and enjoyable.
When playtime winds down, Daisy Green is all about the love. She adores pets, especially head and back scratches, and will sweetly rest her head in your hands to soak up the affection. She's a snuggly girl who enjoys being close to her people while still appreciating a little personal space now and then. At 70 pounds, Daisy Green is the perfect size for cuddling, leaning in for pets, and being your constant companion-even if she doesn't quite realize she's lap-sized! Belly rubs are always welcome, and according to her foster, she's quickly become their shadow, happiest when she's nearby.
Daisy Green has enjoyed several Dogs Day Out adventures, including trips to the park and Lake Roland, where she explored, relaxed, and showed off her sweet personality. At the park, she loved birdwatching and taking in all the sights around her. Volunteers described her as gentle, curious, and incredibly sweet. During her trip to Lake Roland, she happily stuck her head out the car window, enjoyed pup cups, and flashed the beautiful smile that has won over so many admirers.
She also did wonderfully at recent adoption events, charming everyone she met with her gentle personality. Daisy has now met countless men, women, teenagers, and even young toddlers, greeting them all with a friendly, patient attitude. At her most recent event, she calmly waited as toddlers approached her and even chose to lie down, showing just how gentle and thoughtful she can be around little ones. She occasionally gets excited and may offer a small jump when greeting new friends, but she's making excellent progress learning to settle before saying hello.
Since settling into her foster home, Daisy has continued to prove what an incredible house companion she is. She is perfectly housetrained and comfortably holds it through a full workday without accidents. When left alone, she simply spends the day sleeping until her person comes home. She sleeps quietly through the night, is crate trained, respectful around food, and has wonderful manners throughout the house.
Daisy has also become quite the office companion, accompanying her foster to work multiple times and happily meeting a steady stream of new people throughout the day. She takes all the extra attention in stride and continues to impress everyone she meets with her calm, friendly personality. She also handled a long car ride well, becoming a little restless toward the end but overall proving to be a good traveler.
Her foster describes her as a relaxed dog overall, despite her playful bursts of energy. She loves interactive games of fetch and tug, happily entertains herself with toys (although stuffed toys don't usually survive very long!), and balances her playful side with plenty of naps and cuddle time.
This sweet girl has a wonderful balance of playful energy and calm companionship and would love a forever home that can provide structure, daily exercise, consistent routines, and, most importantly, lots of love and together time. Daisy truly prefers being with her people and will reward them with endless affection, goofy antics, and loyal companionship.
Daisy Green is playful with her canine pals and prefers polite playmates. She will need to meet any potential dog roommates to ensure they're a good match and is eligible to return to BARCS for social sessions.
With her joyful spirit, affectionate nature, excellent house manners, gentle manners with children, friendly personality, and playful charm, Daisy Green is already proving to be a truly special pup.
