Meet Buc-ee 4 (Bailey)! Bailey came to the shelter when her family could no longer care for her. She is a sweet, playful pup who can be shy around unfamiliar people and in new environments. She is looking for a calm, patient adopter who will allow her to build confidence at her own pace.
Bailey has been spending time in a short-term foster home, where her fun personality has started to shine. She has a good level of puppy energy and loves playing with the two resident dogs. A friendly, playful canine companion could be especially helpful in her future home by providing companionship and helping her feel more confident.
This sweet girl enjoys chewing on dog-friendly bones and appropriately chooses her toys and bones instead of household items. After a day of playing, she settles quietly in her crate and sleeps soundly. She also rests peacefully in her crate when left alone.
Bailey is continuing to work on housetraining. She may occasionally forget when she becomes distracted by all the fun, but with patience and a consistent routine, she should continue making progress.
Although playtime is often her priority, Bailey has an affectionate side that appears once she feels safe. She has formed a special bond with her foster parent and will climb into their lap for snuggles and belly rubs. She is also generally quiet and rarely barks, making her a lovely houseguest.
The outside world can still feel overwhelming to Bailey, so her foster family is introducing her to new sights and sounds through short, manageable walks. For now, she walks to the end of the block and back. When something frightens her, she may pause, but gentle encouragement and reassuring baby talk help her find the courage to continue.
Bailey needs a patient, peaceful home that will give her the time and support she needs to blossom. With love, consistency, and possibly a playful dog friend by her side, this shy girl is sure to become a happy and devoted companion.
