Meet Gucci! How has this special little girl with her wrinkly face, curious expression, quirky ears, curly tail, and gentle demeanor not been scooped up yet? At 5 years old and just 41 pounds, Gucci is a petite little lady with a one-of-a-kind look and an equally special personality.
Gucci arrived at BARCS through no fault of her own, and we already know quite a bit about what she's like in a home. She is housebroken, crate trained, and does well when left alone. She previously lived with another large dog and did well, and she has also interacted well with children ages 1 to 4.
This girl enjoys the simple pleasures in life-going for walks, sniffing all the good smells, playing with balls, and spending time with her people. Gucci is an easy, loose-leash walker who doesn't need to pull or jump to get where she's going. She'd much rather take a leisurely stroll and investigate the world around her.
Gucci spent some time in a temporary foster home and she adapted so quickly to a home routine. She is 100% house-trained, with no accidents at all. This polite gal doesn't jump on furniture unless she's invited. Gucci sleeps through the night without a peep until you're ready to rise. She wants to be close and will be your little shadow - she loves affection and returns it with sweet, gentle kisses. Gucci enjoys her treats and takes them gently. She lives for her walks, enjoying all the smells and taking in the sights.
Gucci has enjoyed several Dog's Day Out adventures with volunteers, and this laid-back, happy girl has been a wonderful companion everywhere she goes! She has explored Fort McHenry and Federal Hill Park, happily taking in all the new sights and smells along the way. Gucci loads easily into the car and is a great passenger, making her a fun adventure buddy.
Gucci is curious and friendly, enjoying the opportunity to explore new places and check out all the interesting scents. At the park, she happily took on squirrel patrol, and she was a pleasure to walk on leash. She walks nicely without pulling when people pass by and even showed off her "sit." After her adventures, Gucci is more than happy to switch gears and enjoy some affection. She loves head scratches, snuggles, and giving kisses. Gucci was such a good girl during her outings that she earned a trip to an ice cream shop for a pup cup-and she was absolutely in heaven!
Gucci may initially come across as a little reserved, but don't mistake her quiet demeanor for a lack of affection. She loves being petted, having that adorable wrinkled brow rubbed, and getting scratches near her curly little tail. She won't demand your attention by barking or bouncing around. Instead, Gucci has a way of quietly working her way into your heart until suddenly you realize you're completely in love with her.
And like any true Gucci girl, she has standards. Kennel kibble? Not particularly impressive. A tasty treat offered politely? Now we're talking!
Gucci doesn't need to be the loudest dog in the room to get noticed. She's gentle, polite, distinctive, and wonderfully herself.
Gucci has met other dogs here at the shelter, and prefers gentle and polite pals. She has interacted nicely with small breed dogs.
Whether she's exploring somewhere new or relaxing with her people, Gucci is a sweet, easygoing companion who is ready to make many more happy memories with her forever family. Gucci is one of a kind. Gucci is all good. Now Gucci just needs a home.
