Meet Junior - a handsome senior gentleman looking for a soft place to land.
Junior came to the shelter through no fault of his own after living successfully with children of all ages and other large dogs, especially female dogs. His former family described him as housebroken, crate trained, well-behaved when left alone, and a great listener. He has also done well being boarded overnight and during vet visits.
At the shelter, Junior has been an easygoing, affectionate boy who enjoys taking leisurely walks and sniffing all the interesting smells around him. He loves attention, head rubs, and spending time with his people. Junior also enjoys chasing after a ball and shows off the happiest little hops while playing - though bringing the ball back is still optional in his opinion. He is easy to leash, easily handled, and overall seems happiest just enjoying life at his own pace. Junior would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, loving dog to share their days with.
Junior recently spent time in a short-term foster home and proved himself to be an easy, lovable companion! This handsome boy is fully housetrained and had zero accidents during his stay. He spent his time enjoying leisurely walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles, showing just how well he settles into a home environment.
On walks, Junior is a dream. He enjoys slow, relaxed strolls with lots of time to take in the sights and smells. He walks beautifully on leash and shows no reactivity during his outings. He met several adult neighbors along the way and greeted everyone with happy tail wags, friendly curiosity, and sweet kisses.
Junior absolutely adores people and thrives on human companionship. Whether meeting new friends outside or welcoming visitors into the home, he was affectionate and eager to say hello. He loves being close to his people, but he also showed that he can settle independently when needed. He slept overnight in a separate room from his foster volunteer and did wonderfully-no whining, barking, or fussing.
This medium-energy boy enjoys a good game of fetch and especially loves playing with a ball. He also enjoys tug, snuggling, and simply spending quality time with his humans. Junior is happiest when he has activities to keep him engaged and can get a little bored without enough exercise or enrichment, making him a great fit for an adopter who enjoys including their dog in daily adventures.
With his friendly personality, excellent house manners, easy leash skills, and love for people, Junior is ready to be someone's loyal best friend. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who will happily join you for a walk and then curl up nearby for snuggles, Junior may be the perfect match.
