Meet Bella Boop-a joyful, affectionate girl whose happiness is absolutely contagious. Her former family described her as spunky, childlike, loving, and kind, and her foster family couldn't agree more. At 36 pounds, she's the perfect medium-sized companion, always ready for an adventure, a cuddle, or the chance to make a new friend.
Bella Boop found herself at BARCS through no fault of her own due to landlord issues, but she has settled beautifully into foster care. Her foster describes her as a dog who simply loves being with her people. Whether she's following you around the house, snuggling up on the couch, or wagging her whole body with excitement on a walk, Bella Boop's favorite place is wherever her family is. She's eager to please, comes when called, listens well, and has already mastered "sit" while continuing to work on her leash manners.
She has proven to be wonderfully social with everyone she meets. On neighborhood walks, Bella Boop happily greets men, women, children, and other dogs with a wagging tail and a friendly attitude. Her foster reports no growling or raised hackles-just excitement to say hello. She's also fantastic with her foster family's three energetic children, ages 7 to 10, matching their playful energy while remaining gentle and affectionate. Her previous family also shared that she lived successfully with children of all ages, including a child with special needs, making her an excellent candidate for a family home.
Bella Boop also has experience living with other pets. She previously lived with both dogs and a cat, and in her foster home she has shown very little interest in the resident cat, calmly observing from a distance. (She has discovered that the litter box can contain "snacks," so her foster simply keeps it out of reach!) She has also enjoyed meeting other dogs at the shelter, where she's been loose, playful, and wiggly with gentle canine friends.
Around the house, Bella Boop has lovely manners. She settles nicely in her crate when left alone and has done very well adjusting to her foster home. She had one rough day with a couple of potty accidents early on, but overall she's continuing to make great progress with her housetraining as she settles into her new routine.
Bella Boop enjoys getting out for walks and has plenty of enthusiasm when it's time to head outside. She can pull strongly at the beginning of a walk when she's excited, but as she burns off some energy she settles into a much more relaxed pace. Her foster describes her as having the perfect balance of playful energy and downtime-she's happy to join you on an adventure, then equally happy to curl up beside you afterward for a nap.
Her favorite activity isn't a toy at all-it's simply spending time with her people. She thrives on affection, loves being close to her family, and has a sweet, puppy-like enthusiasm for life that makes every day a little brighter.
If you're looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion who adores people, does well with children, has experience living with other pets, and is always ready to make you smile, Bella Boop is ready to become your newest family member.
Bella Boop is currently enjoying life in a foster home while she waits for her forever family. If you're interested in meeting this wonderful girl, please complete an adoption application and email dogfosters@barcs.org to be connected with her foster family.
