Pac Man 3 (aka Kira) is a beautiful, sweet 7-year-old girl who is ready to find a home where she can relax and shine. She loves spending time outdoors, especially rolling in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and getting plenty of back scratches. Kira is very food motivated and already knows "sit" and "shake!" She's eager to learn even more with a few tasty treats as motivation.
Kira is generally easy to walk on leash, though she may pull a little when something exciting catches her attention. Once she's had a chance to burn off some energy, she's happy to slow down and enjoy the simple things-lounging in the grass, snacking on treats, and spending time with her people.
Shelter life has been stressful for Kira, so we encourage anyone interested in meeting her to ask to spend time with her outside of her kennel. She's a completely different dog once she's out and able to relax, showing just how affectionate and gentle she truly is.
During a recent Dog's Day Out adventure with a volunteer, Kira proved what a wonderful companion she can be. She loved riding in the car, especially with the window cracked, and enjoyed exploring Fort McHenry on a nice walk. Although she still has plenty of pep in her step, she also embraces the senior lifestyle-once she's had enough exercise, she's ready for a nap!
After her outing, Kira was invited back to the volunteer's apartment, where she showed off her excellent house manners. She only hopped onto the furniture when invited and immediately curled up in her new friend's arms for a cozy nap. She appeared to be housebroken, doing her business promptly each time she went outside. She happily accepted every treat offered, loved her pup cup, and charmed everyone she met with her sweet personality.
Kira has met other dogs at the shelter and may be a little tense during initial introductions. She would benefit from a meet-and-greet with any potential canine roommates to ensure everyone is a good fit.
