Update: I haven't seen Jackie for a while because she's been in a foster home, and she's as sweet as I remember. She's also so much fun and loves playing with toys. She'd bring her toy back for a treat, and we had a blast. After play time, she sat beside me soaking up attention and being the best girl. I love this sweet dog and know that she can be someone's very best friend.

Community Event Update: I had the privilege of taking Jackie to the Athens Holiday Market at Bishop Park yesterday. This girl quickly found her happy place - right at the intersection of the outside loop and the entrance to the pavilion, where there was lots of traffic and therefore lots of attention. She soaked up all of the loving from ages 2 and up, and she was totally nonreactive to other dogs, even dogs who were barking at her. She had excellent manners when meeting another shelter pup, who was very nervous in the new environment and seemed to soak up a bit of Jackie's calm vibe. Jackie has been in a foster home, so she should be house trained, create trained, etc. She is back in the shelter while her foster is out of town for the holiday; I hope they pick her back up today, because she really, really does not like the shelter. Or, even better, maybe she'll find her forever family!

Jackie and Wilson are sweet, friendly dogs. They were seen darting in and out of traffic this morning, and fortunately, a good Samaritan stopped to get them out of danger and bring them to the shelter. They're both really nice dogs who enjoy being together. They'd sit for treats and wait their turn. When I sat down, they sat beside me enjoying pets. Wilson nudged my treat bag to let me know that a few more treats would be appreciated, too. No Lonely Teardrops for Jackie and Wilson; they're a happy duo!
