Foster update: Zelda does really well in the home! She's house trained and crate trained. She'll sleep in until your alarm goes off in the morning (one time she didn't even want to get up until 11:00 AM😅). I let her sleep on my bed from time to time, and she does really well with that! She's great in the house and hasn't chewed up any of our furniture or baseboards. I do typically put her in the crate when I leave the house, and she does well. Zelda is great balance of playful energy and being a total cuddle bug who just wants to watch TV with you. She has done well with a proper introduction to other dogs!

Foster update: I'm currently fostering Zelda, a 3 year old pitbull mix. She previously had heartworms, but underwent treatment and she's started preventative! Zelda has done very well with all of the new people and dogs she's met. She loves car rides, window watching, and treats! Zelda is crate and house trained, and she even sleeps in until 10:00 AM if you let her. I recently started letting her sleep on my bed, and she's done very well with that too! Zelda is the type of dog who loves play time, but also enjoys cuddles and a good nap on the couch. She knows sit, stay, lay down, come, and she walks well on a leash! We're currently working on some more tricks, as she is really smart and learns quickly! Zelda is a very well rounded and loving dog who deserves a permanent home!

Foster update: I've only been fostering Zelda for a few days, but here's what I know so far! She's a pit mix who is about 3 years old and around 55 pounds. Zelda is currently going through heartworm treatment, but she will be done in about a month and start preventative. She is house trained and crate trained (she sleeps in until 9:30/9:45)! She has done very well with all of the new people and dogs she has met! Zelda can have a lot of energy if you get her worked up, but she is also a dog who loves cuddles and napping on the couch. She'll even lay on the couch while I'm sitting beside her and eating breakfast, and she won't bother me at all. She walks very well on a leash and knows how to sit, stay, and lay down! Zelda is very much a people pleaser and easily adapts to your schedule! If you're interested in her, I'm more than happy to arrange a meet and greet! She really is a well rounded dog and deserves to have a home!

Zelda's Doggy Day Out: I had a great time a couple weeks ago during their "doggy day out" program with one of their shelter dogs, Zelda! Zelda is listed as urgent. She is heartworm positive, spayed, about 3 years old, and weighs around 45 pounds. Zelda has done very well with dogs that she's met, and she's a definite people pleaser and cuddle bug! The only thing she really needs to work on is not jumping up, however, she stopped once I corrected her a couple times. She is one of the sweetest dogs I've met! Please consider helping this sweet girl! Due to her heartworm positive status, she's available for rescue, foster, or foster-to-adopt. The shelter can provide more information on her heartworm treatment or any help they can provide for this treatment.

Update: Zelda is FUN! She loves toys and has a great time playing fetch. The first time I met Zelda, we had to work on keeping her paws on the ground, but that's no longer the case. She's great about sitting and waiting for a toy to be thrown and gives perfect sits for treats. She's a really good girl who's happy to be with a friend, loves to please, and soaks up all the love you can give her.

Update: Zelda is such a playful wonderful lady
Check out what this shelter volunteer had to say about spending time with her
"Zelda is one of the most well-rounded dogs I've hung out with. She absolutely loves people and just getting attention in general. She had such a blast playing with the ball and returns it right at your feet! When she got a little tired, she was very thankful for some good belly rubs. She also has great manners and is very good at sitting for treats! I can't wait for her to find her perfect person. She is going to make someone so happy🥰"

Zelda is a happy girl who bounces with joy. We worked on keeping her paws on the ground because in her excitement, she loves giving hugs. She also likes chasing toys and is pretty good about bringing them back. That was a good way to help her channel her energy. Zelda enjoys being with people and is always ready for fun.
