Update from off-site event: Tammy is practically perfect - the only thing she needs... is a home!
Tammy is a beautiful sweetheart who always has a smile for everyone she meets. She's well-behaved and great on a leash, and we had so much fun just hanging out together today.
Things I learned about Tammy in our three hours together:
- Loves meeting new people - Tammy made sure to say hi to everyone and enjoyed the attention, she would lean against a person's legs and soak up the love.
- Happy just chilling - we spent several hours at Oak house distillery in Athens and when she wasn't meeting new people she was perfectly content just relaxing
- Smart and treat-motivated - This girl is one of the dogs in the Project Homebound dog training program so she's mastered a lot of skills and already and can't wait to show you her bag of tricks! She knows sit, down, shake, focus, leave it and more!
- Loves ice cubes! She would stick her whole head in the water to retrieve them. And thinks they're a yummy snack!
- Rides well in the car
- Great on a leash- she pulled for about a minute and then remembered her manners lol. Not surprising in a new location with so many new sights, smells, and sounds.

Tammy LOVES playing fetch. She'd charge after a ball, sometimes drop or accidentally kick it, chase it some more, and never give up on returning it. She's fun AND entertaining. Tammy also enjoys treats and will sit for them, but toys are her passion, and she'd rather spend her time running and playing. The person that found Tammy said she was good with children and was around kids ranging in age from 5 to 17. She's a sweet, friendly beauty who loves to play but also makes time for hugs and pets.
Unfortunately, Tammy has heartworms, so if she's not reclaimed, she will only be available for rescue, foster, or foster-to-adopt. Once she's completed her heartworm treatment, she'll also be available for adoption.
