Meadow came to our shelter as a transfer from Van Buren County with her sibling Misty. Unfortunately, we don't know anything about their past and how they ended up at the shelter. What we do know is that both of the girls are sweet as can be despite being very shy with people upon first meeting. Being in a shelter environment can be extremely stressful on dogs. But given the time and space to open up, Meadow loves nothing more than some treats and cuddles from her favorite humans. Meadow has tested heartworm positive, to a very minor degree. What this means is that for the time being, her activity needs to be minimalized. Which means no time outside with the other dogs. That said, Meadow is able to have leashed walks and improves everyday! No aggressive treatment for her condition has been recommended. She will need to have monthly over the counter heartworm treatment, such as interceptor+. It's also a good idea to keep in touch with your veterinarian, as she will have to have exams every 6 months. She doesn't let a little thing like that keep her down though! Meadow is ready to meet her new forever family, and you could be the recipient of all the love she has to give!
