Wilder is a handsome, 1-year-old Vizsla-Terrier-mix who was returned to the shelter by his adopter, with little reason as to why. Wilder is such an affectionate, loving boy. He takes treats so, so gently but getting pets and hugs is what really gets him going! He's still working on learning all his commands, but he's alert and focused so will likely be easily trained once someone spends a little time with him. Wilder seems to get along well with other dogs, so he might be a great addition for family looking for an easy-going buddy for a dog already in the home. But we think he'd also shine as an only dog, and would probably love to have some kids to entertain or just curl up on the couch with his favorite person.
Wilder is positive for heartworms. There are several options for treatment and a documented plan must be in place with your veterinarian at the time of adoption. Companions of CPAS, our affiliated non-profit group, can sponsor some of the needed medications too, so costs can be minimal. Don't let his heartworm status stop you from bringing this good boy into your life!
Wilder is already neutered so he can walk out of the shelter today! His adoption fee is $50 and includes a microchip and up-to-date vaccinations.
