Howdy, pardner! I'm Cowboy, a 1 1/2 year-old black and white male cat that came to Animal Ark after I was live trapped in a neighborhood in St Paul. Some kind people realized that I was alone and injured and got me to a vet clinic for treatment. From the minute they grabbed me, I was affectionate and chatty, giving head butts and asking for chin scritchies. I did test positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) which is transmitted through deep bite wounds. It is not transmissible to humans or other animals except cats. I can still live a long, happy life, with regular vet check-ups, good quality food, and (of course) being kept indoors. I will need to be an only cat or in a home with other FIV-positive kitties.
