Hi! My name is Jupiter and I am a sweet but energetic boy. I can to the shelter in November of 2024 and I'm currently looking for my forever home.
The staff say I am really talented as I know a couple really cool tricks. I have become a pro at sit, spin, shake, but I am still working on down. You see I am very food motivated and will do just about anything for a treat. When I am not entertaining you with all of my skills you will find I love to put my nose to the ground and get to work. The staff say I have nose brain but I'm sure they are just jealous that I can smell all the cool things they can't.
Since being at the shelter I have tried to play with other dogs. It seems like every dog I have met so far gets a little nervous of my as I do like to tell a lot of stories before playing with someone new. I think I just need a doggie friend that is able to keep up with my and wrestle until we are both exhausted.
I can't wait to find my forever home where I can be spoiled with lots of treatos and snuggles. Hopefully they will have a fenced in yard and maybe even another doggie friend I could spend my days playing with. If you like a little excitement in your life and are looking for an adventure buddy then I am the perfect boy for you.
~ Jupiter is a high-energy dog looking for an active home that will be able to take him on lots of adventures once he is comfortable
~ While in our care we have noticed that Jupiter shows the possibility of having resource guarding with his food
~ He is looking for a single person, couple or family with older children
~ He will need to be signed up for training prior to going into his fur-ever home to help him learn some of his basic manners and help with socialization
~ Jupiter's new family will need to be familiar (either by previous ownership or research) with hound breed behaviours

Field trip program notes:
"Jupiter was wonderful. He loves sniffing and exploring. He is inquisitive and likes to observe his surroundings.
There were absolutely no issues during our trip. We went to Huron Natural Park and to a private yard.
We had a lovely walk in Huron natural Area, came across people who loved to compliment him and say hello. He was dealt with that very well. We also met a couple of dogs on our walk, no reaction from his other than curiosity maybe but he did very well.
Even when the other dogs barked, he did not react at all.
We then went for a play to a private yard but he was not very engaging with playing fetch. He sniffed and explored in his own time and we played with snow. He liked to catch snow balls. We ended our trip with a well deserved pappucino and a snuggle.
I think he will benefit from more socialization as in being taken and exposed to other surroundings. His leash manners will improve in time as he is being taken on more walks.
Overall, he was a joy.
Thank you for the opportunity to take him out! "
