Meet Moon, a gentle girl with a heart as soft as moonlight! Moon is still finding her courage here at the shelter, and while the world can feel a little overwhelming at times, she's slowly learning that good things happen when kind people are nearby. Moon is looking for a patient and understanding family who can help her build confidence at her own pace. Once she starts to feel safe, her sweet and loving personality begins to shine through! She enjoys affection and is happiest with people who let her take things one step at a time. A calm home with plenty of encouragement and lots of love will help Moon blossom into the wonderful dog she's meant to be. Watching a shy dog gain confidence and discover the joy of being part of a family is incredibly rewarding, and Moon is ready for someone willing to take that journey with her.
Moon arrived in May as a stray with a mammary mass. After being examined by our medical team, she had surgery to spay her and remove the mass from her body. Once biopsied, it was confirmed that it was cancerous. At this time, there doesn't seem to be any sign of metastasis, although we can not fully rule that out nor can we be sure that she won't have new tumors in the future.
If you have a little patience and room in your home for a very deserving dog, Moon may be the perfect match. Come meet this girl and help her discover just how bright her future can be!
