Meet our resident grump, Tigger- a professional huffer, expert side-eyer, and firm believer that shelter staff are highly overrated. This handsome guy has made it very clear that he does not appreciate unsolicited opinions, sudden movements, or being told what to do. His hobbies currently include glaring, dramatic sighing, hissing and reminding us that personal space is important.
Underneath the hissy exterior, though, is a cat who is simply overwhelmed and looking for the right person to understand him. He is not the kind of cat who will arrive home and instantly curl up in your lap. Trust with him will need to be earned slowly, patiently, and entirely on his terms. He is looking for a calm, cat-savvy home with someone who respects boundaries, understands feline body language, and is willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel safe.
We suspect that once he settles in and realizes the world is not, in fact, conspiring against him, there is a softer side waiting to emerge. Watching a cautious cat slowly learn to trust can be one of the most rewarding experiences - but it takes patience, empathy, and a good sense of humor.
