Brutus is a handsome boy with a gentle soul who just needs a little time to show his true colours. He can be shy and a bit nervous when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, his true personality quickly comes through. Once he feels comfortable, Brutus transforms into a fun-loving, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to his people. He loves going for walks and will happily join you on outdoor adventures, and he occasionally enjoys play time as well. Brutus is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can build confidence and share his sweet, loyal heart.

HOME TYPE:
House or Townhouse- No apartments as Brutus has shown signs of general anxiety. Shared hallways, elevators, and high-traffic entrances can be overwhelming for him, so a quieter setting will go a long way to help him feel safe and settled.
CHILDREN:
Yes- Potentially compatible with older children who have experience with large dogs. Due to his size and enthusiastic play style, he is best suited for kids who are comfortable with big, energetic companions.
CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:
Yes- Cats potentially compatible with slow proper introduction
OTHER DOGS:
Yes- Dogs potentially compatible.
ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:
High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.
HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:
His new family ideally should have previous large dog experience and be willing to work on difficult behaviours such as general anxiety.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:
At least two in-person training sessions to work on socialization, basic training, manners and anxiety.
HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:
Very human social.
