Hi, my name is Mable and I am the prettiest little tabico (tabby/calico) you'll ever see--if you see me, that is. Although I adore attention, I am also incredibly shy. My most favourite thing in the world is getting full-body pets and I so desperately want to become a lap cat, but humans are big, loud, and scary! When people are around I tend to hide in covered cat beds and cubbies, but I love it when a calm, quiet person comes to visit me and give me pets. (Pro tip: play a recording of a cat purring and I will instantly relax!)
When being petted, I will purr, roll, and make biscuits (knead) all day long. Once I'm settled and comfortable in my space, I will even come out of my hidey-hole for attention--as long as you don't move too much! I'm also a sucker for wet food and treats, so if you have those with you, I'm even more likely to venture out to say hi!
When I'm on my own, my favourite thing to do is sit in a window and watch all the wildlife outside. I love a tall cat tree where I can sleep on the highest bed. I'm most active and likely to explore around at night when everything is dark and quiet. I don't play with toys too often, but it would be great for me to have a home that encourages me to engage in more healthy physical activity. My playful side is just waiting to be comfortable enough to come out!
