Meet Anna!
This beautiful large-breed mix is bursting with love and personality. Anna adores people and truly believes she's a lap dog-don't be surprised when she tries to snuggle right into your arms!
Anna is a smart cookie who already knows a bunch of cool tricks and is always eager to learn more. Training time is one of her favourite things, and with positive reinforcement, she thrives! She's currently polishing up her leash manners, working through some leash frustration, and learning not to jump up when excited. She can be a bit vocal when left alone, so she'll benefit from a patient adopter willing to help her feel secure when apart.
Whether it's adventuring outdoors or curling up for a cozy nap, Anna is happiest when she's with her people. She's looking for a home that will continue her training journey and provide her with plenty of love, structure, and snuggles.

IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOME
SIZE:
65 lbs but could use some weight loss.
HOME TYPE:
House or Townhouse. Anna can be vocal when left alone. She would do best in a home without shared walls or entryways.
CHILDREN:
Yes- Older children who have previously lived with a large dog potentially compatible. She is a large, high-energy dog that can be jumpy in exciting moments like when people come home.
CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:
Yes - She did well with cats in her previous home.
OTHER DOGS:
Yes- Dogs potentially compatible. Can be vocal/barky to dogs on leash but can do well with young but respectful dogs. She's not a big fan of pushy dogs.
ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:
High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.
HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:
First time dog owner possible. Her new family must be willing to work on some behaviours that will take time to work.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:
At least Two in-person training sessions to work on socialization, basic training, manners, jumping up, touch sensitivity with paws (Will need work on nail trimming as she's fairly wiggly for that) and reactivity to dogs.
HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:
Very human social. She is so sweet and friendly once comfortable!
FAVOURITE THINGS:
Loves playing with toys or getting snuggled!
