House - Forrest can be vocal, so he would do best in a home without share walls.
CHILDREN:
Yes - Adult only home or a home with older children who have lived with a large dog before.
CATS & SMALL ANIMALS:
Yes - cats potentially compatible with slow proper introduction.
OTHER DOGS:
Yes - Dogs potentially compatible.
ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:
High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.
HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:
First time dog owner possible if prepared to work with difficult behaviours such a possible separation anxiety and medical manipulation sensitivity. His new family will need previous hound experience or hound research.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:
Two in-person training sessions to work on socialization, manners (jumping, mouthing), separation anxiety, clinic setting desensitization and basic training.
HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:
Very human social and is a big love bug!
